Abstract
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is characterized by an exceptionally high global prevalence that is projected to continue rising in the near future. MASLD is strongly associated with a spectrum of cardiometabolic risk factors, and may itself, in turn, contribute to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. This interconnection warrants the development of integrated treatment strategies targeting shared pathophysiological processes and addressing both hepatic, metabolic, and cardiovascular outcomes. In this work, we review the modern MASLD clinical development pip
