Abstract

Abstract We evaluated pre and postoperative pulmonary functions of 48 patients who underwent posterior fusion for the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The mean age at the time of surgery was 13±1.5 years. Average follow-up time was 2.7 years. The predicted pulmonary volumes of the patients were used to eliminate any effect of the difference in age. In this study we didn t found any relation between the pre and postoperative frontal and sagittal plane Cobb angles and pulmonary volumes.
