The development of colon-targeted drug delivery systems (CDDS) has gained increasing attention due to their potential to improve therapeutic outcomes for diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), colorectal cancer, and other colonic disorders.
