Progressive forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) include primary progressive MS (PPMS) and secondary progressive MS (SPMS). Unlike relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), progressive MS is recognized by relentless progression with accumulating disability, rare to no relapses nor new activity on MRIs.
